Why this exists
Cryptex Real Estate is now Solden. The name changed because what we do outgrew it.
We spent years building data and reporting systems for real estate and investment firms. The engagements varied. The underlying problem almost never did.
An office holds interests through a structure that nobody outside it fully understands. The documents that describe what those interests are worth arrive as PDFs, from a dozen counterparties, on their schedules. Somebody turns them into numbers by hand. Those numbers land in a workbook, the workbook becomes the system of record without anyone choosing that, and the person who understands it becomes a single point of failure.
None of that is a failure of discipline. It is what happens when the tools available are built for portfolios of securities rather than for structures of entities. The reporting products assume you own assets. You own entities that own entities.
What changed with the name
Cryptex Real Estate described a consulting practice with a sector in its name. Solden is broader on purpose: the consulting continues, and alongside it a platform that solves the recurring version of the problem rather than one firm's instance of it.
For existing clients, nothing about your engagement changes. Same team, same work, same people on the other end of the email. We will be in touch directly about updated billing details rather than expecting you to find them here.
How we work
- We will tell you when this is not a fit. A product sold into the wrong situation costs us more in support than it earns.
- We answer diligence questions before they are asked. The security overview exists so you do not have to send a questionnaire to find out where your documents would live.
- We onboard deliberately. Access is by conversation rather than self-service sign-up, because the structures we work with are not interchangeable and the setup matters.
Where we are
Dallas, Texas. Work happens across US time zones; clients are not limited to Texas.
